Betting strategy update
Just before the most wonderful tournament of the year, Roland Garros, it's time to make a statement of what went well or bad since the beginning of the year, to adapt the strategy just before this great event. Overall results so far 4060 Units staked with 203 bets. 109W / 94L -46.63 Units, ROI : -1.16 % Clearly this starting year can be improved a lot. Where to find optimizations ?First I am also doing live betting on tennis, and I thought that since the odds are often less interesting with a bigger rake for the bookies, the results would be less good and more random. The results shows a completely different thing : with more than 150 bets the ROI is getting close to 5%. These results are not included in the overall results but they will. I will also adapt the amounts for each bet which was lower for live betting than for usual one. All the betting amount will be 10 units starting now. I will try to find a way to publish the live results. What is appearing really clear is that the results are directly linked to the tournaments. Some are absolutely catastrophic in term of betting results the whole week long. For me that could be linked to the conditions of play (wind, quality of the court, outside temperature and so on). To adapt to that, I will starting now have a look at the qualifications results of the tournament, to check the amount of surprises in term of results, but I will also try to limit the betting amount on the first rounds when the information of the qualification rounds are not clear. Results are also a bit better when I bet on players I had the opportunity to watch the round before. I wil from now on try to watch at leats 10-15 minutes of the previous match of a player I am betting on. I also checked the results of every single match this year at every single tournament. I stored all the information in a tab, with the odd, the winner, the score and so on. I had in mind than the ROI was better on high odds, and the betting on small one was not a good option, and this makes sense, the bookies rake being higher in %. It looks like it is not the case on tennis, and i think with more than 1500 matches recorded that the sampling starts to be reliable. I will then try to focus on the odds that show the best results. SBC league adaptation : After many test bets and many mails to Blitzpredict admins to improve and fix bugs on tennis matches, it looks like the platform is quite stable now on this topic and that bets can be done properly. I fixed myself a rule when I started to take part in it : I place my personal bets on my booky, and then I place the same bet transposed in a simple player's victory on Blitz. That is not working at all. When I place a -1.5 sets bet on someone because the odd is good, it does not mean at all that the odd is good for his victory and it's often too low. Meaning I placed a lot of odds lower than 1.3 and I don't like it, especially when the stake is based on a stable result. From now on, starting at RG, I will completely separate the SBC League and my own BK.
